Gilbert Spanish Academy

Young and developing, Gilbert is one of the fastest growing towns in the United States today, with a high number of Spanish-speaking residents. According to the 2000 US Census, Gilbert is a thriving city of 170,000 residents, with 26,000 of Latino or Hispanic background. Nearly 12,000 of those residents speak Spanish in their home.

Gilbert’s annual Global Village Festival provides a glimpse at Hispanic/Latino culture, as many different backgrounds are represented there with free ethnic food, traditional dances, craft and merchandise tables, and live music. Restaurants such as Pepin's serve Spanish food as well as provide live flamenco dancing for your family’s entertainment.

It’s never too early to start building the skills needed for effective bilingual communication, and Gilbert is one area where the Spanish language and culture is an important part of its city’s makeup.
